South African Air force Museum

The South African Air Force Museum houses, exhibits and restores material related to the history of the South African Air Force. The Museum is divided into three locations, AFB Swartkop outside Pretoria, AFB Ysterplaat in Cape Town and at the Port Elizabeth airport.

Red Location Museum

The Red Location Museum is an Apartheid museum in New Brighton township of Port Elizabeth, South Africa. It was designed by South African architectural partnership Noero Wolff Architects and has won a number of prestigious international architecture awards, such as the RIBA’s Lubetkin Award.

Red Location Museum

The Donkin Reserve, Pyramid and Lighthouse includes a Stone Pyramid Monument with a touching inscription erected by Sir Rufane Donkin in memory of his late wife, Elizabeth, after whom the city was named, as well as palm-lined walkways and benches. The Pyramid is approximately 10 meters high and the sides at the base measure about 8 meters each.

Red Location Museum

Fort Frederick was Built in 1799 to defend the mouth of the Baakens River, it stands overlooking the harbour in the South African ‘windy’ or ‘friendly city’ of Port Elizabeth. Fort Frederick served as protection against a possible landing of French troops in the harbour during the Napoloeonic wars when British occupation of the colony first occurred.
